Montenegro: Stricter measures possible from 1 December

Following the recent meeting of the Council for the Fight against Coronavirus, the Government of Montenegro decided that for the time being, the foreseen epidemiological measures with increased inspection supervision should remain in force. This was announced at a regular press conference by the director of the Institute of Public Health, Dr. Igor Galic.

However, if the epidemiological situation in Montenegro does not improve in the coming weeks, the Government of Montenegro will consider imposing the obligation to have a national digital certificate for COVID (vaccination test or negative PCR no older than 72 hours or rapid antigen test). not older than 48 hours or evidence of past illness in the last six months) for full public administration (health, education, police administration, army…).

If this happens, from December 1, the COVID National Digital Certificate will be required for access to public transport, shopping malls, gyms, business premises and business facilities in which the activity is performed by more than three companies, ie entrepreneurs and facilities. to over. one thousand square meters in which non-food retail goods are traded ja Attendance at weddings will be limited, with the National Digital Certificate, to four square meters per person. New Year celebrations can not be organized either indoors or in open spaces without possessing the National Digital Certificate for COVID, according to the model of this year’s festivals.

“Citizens are asked once again, if not for the sake of others, then for the sake of themselves and their families, to wear masks and keep their distance where necessary,” he concluded.

Galic recalled earlier that eight out of ten people who died from coronavirus in the period from May 1 to date have not been vaccinated. Over 80 percent of those in hospitals are also unvaccinated. “Unfortunately for the whole country, all the dead under the age of 40 were unvaccinated. “All those who delay immunization are directly involved in strengthening the current, extremely dangerous delta strain,” said Dr Galiq.
