Slovenia: In September 2021, producer prices rose again: monthly by 0.8% and annually by 8.6%

In September 2021, producer prices rose on average by 0.8% compared to the previous month. Producer prices in the domestic market increased by 0.7% on average and producer prices in the non-domestic market by 0.8%, the National Statistics Agency announced.

Prices of industrial products sold in the markets of euro area countries increased by 0.9%, and prices of industrial products sold in the markets of non-euro area countries by 0.6%.

Compared to the previous month, prices increased in all groups of activities that show the dynamics of prices by end-use of products: prices of intermediate goods by 1.1%, prices of capital goods by 0.7%, prices of consumer goods by 0.5 % and energy prices by 0.1%

Producer prices increased most in the production of leather and leather products (by 5.6%), followed by the production of wood, wood products and cork (by 5.2%). Prices fell the most in the production of computers and optical products (by 1.1%).

According to the Agency, from September 2020 to September 2021, producer prices increased by an average of 8.6%. In the same period, producer prices in the domestic market increased by 9.0% and producer prices in the non-domestic market by 8.2%.

During this period, prices of industrial products sold in the markets of euro area countries increased by 8.3%, and prices of industrial products sold in the markets of non-euro area countries by 8.1%.

In one year, prices rose more in the production of coke and petroleum products (by 60.0%), followed by the production of base metals (by 38.1%), and lower in electricity (by 1.3%).
