BiH: Komcic and Dzaferovic met with Pahor

The President and member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željko Komšić and Šefik Džaferović, spoke today in Bled with the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, on bilateral relations between the two countries and general political relations in the Western Balkans.

Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European path was also discussed, in the context of Slovenia’s presidency of the European Union, and preparations for the upcoming “European Union – Western Balkans” summit, to be held in October in Ljubljana, FENA reports.

Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency member Šefik Dhaferovi tha told FENA after the meeting that Slovenia’s role was particularly discussed when it comes to BiH’s European path.

Speaking about the general visit to Bled and participation in the Bled Strategic Forum, Dhaferović stressed that the need to include the six Western Balkan countries in the European Union is now more emphasized than ever.

“It has been said very clearly, as never before, that the European Union will not be complete until all the countries of the Western Balkans become members, and it was said that no matter how much the Western Balkans need the EU, the European Union needs countries. of the Western Balkans, “he said.

He believes that BiH institutions should function as provided by the Constitution and that the best way for BiH and all other countries in the Western Balkans is to become members of the EU as soon as possible.

“I would say the same about NATO, even though there are some countries in the Western Balkans that have a different attitude towards the Alliance. “European Union for the entire Western Balkans and BiH means the rule of law, economic prosperity and respect for human rights and freedoms, and NATO means security,” Dhaferović noted.

As he concluded in a statement to FENA, this is exactly what all people living in the Western Balkans need.
