INA and MOL reached an agreement to buy a 92.25% stake in OMV in OMV Slovenija doo The transaction involves 120 service stations throughout Slovenia and the wholesale business as well. INA already holds a 7.75% stake in OMV Slovenija doo and in accordance with the agreement INA will increase its stake from the current 7.75% to 33%.
OMV Slovenija doo operates the second largest retail network with 120 retail sites throughout Slovenia under 4 brands: OMV (108); Euro Truck (4); and Avanti / DISCONT (8). After the purchase INA and MOL will become 100% owners of the mentioned property. “This transaction will also benefit INA customers, who will be able to enjoy well-known quality fuels and high-quality services in many countries in the neighboring country in the future,” the company said in a press release.
With 48 MOL and 5 INA brand service stations in Slovenia, MOL Group is currently no. 3 retail market player. Due to the potential transaction, MOL Group – MOL and INA – could reach 173 service stations in Slovenia.
The main fuel supplier for all existing and newly purchased INA and MOL service stations in Slovenia will be INA.
“In this way, the captured market for our Rijeka refinery is given and for this reason, the long-term future of the refinery is ensured, where the implementation of the strategic project for the construction of the delayed cocker unit is continuing.
