Bulgaria: Ballots will be used to vote abroad instead of by car

There will be no machine voting abroad, Stoil Tsitselkov, Deputy Chairman of the Public Council at the Central Election Commission – CEC, told the BNR Horizon program. There has been no practice of handing over cars worldwide, Tsitselkov stressed, and expressed concern that after all the simulations and demonstrations of voting in the car, there was no analysis of the reasons for the difficulties and delays in voting.

CEC spokesman Tsvetozar Tomov has called on Nova TV to stop over-dramatizing the lack of machinery and recalled that no machine voting had been used outside and elections were still taking place. “Elections can end successfully if the queues in front of the polling stations do not exceed 50 people,” Tomov added.
