Albania: Tirana Administrative Court upholds 14-day quarantine for travelers from Greece and northern Macedonia

According to press releases, today the Administrative Court rejected the appeal filed by the SMI against the decision of the Committee of Experts to establish a two-week quarantine for Albanian citizens entering Albania from Greece and Northern Macedonia.

The Socialist Movement for Integration (SMI) filed today in the Administrative Court of Tirana a request for annulment of the decision of the Technical Committee of Experts for a 14-day quarantine imposed on Albanian citizens entering from Greece and Northern Macedonia.

According to reports, the court rejected the SMI’s request, reconfirming the decision of the Committee of Experts.

Opposition parties have described the move as an attempt by the Edi Rama government to exclude Albanians living in Greece and northern Macedonia, both of which have large ethnic Albanian communities, from the April 25 elections.
