Turkey’s exports rose 9.6% year-on-year to $ 16 billion in February, the country’s statistics authority announced on Wednesday.
Turkey’s imports rose 9.4% last month to $ 19.3 billion, raising the foreign trade deficit to $ 3.29 billion, an increase of 8.7%, according to TurkStat.
The export-import coverage ratio was 82.9% in February, from 82.8% a year earlier.
During the first two months of the year, exports increased by 5.9% to $ 31.04 billion, while imports increased by 1.4% to $ 37.38 billion on an annual basis.
In January-February, the trade deficit fell by 15.9% to $ 6.35 billion, compared to the same period last year.
