Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias received Turkish Ambassador to Athens Burak Ambassadorzügergin at the Foreign Ministry on Wednesday.
The meeting took place in preparation for Dendia’s visit to Turkey on April 14th, at the invitation of his Turkish counterpart Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.
Nikos Dendias posted on Twitter that “during the discussion, bilateral relations and regional developments were considered in view of my possible visit to Turkey on 14/4, if conditions allow”.

According to diplomatic sources from the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the meeting Nikos Dendias reiterated the need to avoid provocative actions. In this context, he stressed that the announcements made during yesterday’s meeting of the Turkish Security Council do not contribute to the consolidation of a constructive atmosphere between the two countries.
According to the IBNA exclusive report, ways to maintain the current insecure, peaceful and calm atmosphere were discussed during the meeting.
According to Turkish diplomatic sources, both sides stressed the importance of providing the last possible and ongoing contacts, and in this context the Turkish ambassador stated that Turkey is ready for everything in its competence to ensure that the visit of Nikos Dendias be successful and effective.
Commenting on the leaks from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Turkish sources stressed that it was a very pleasant meeting and they should not deny it.
