Kosovo’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, AAK member Meliza Haradinaj-Stublla, announced her resignation on her Facebook page.
Haradinaj-Stublla resigned from her post as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora and from all functions of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), following the scandal over stolen votes in the February 14th elections.
“Despite the fact that in circumstances that remain unclear this happened in the midst of a pyramid scheme of slander, lynching, pressure, manipulation and blackmail against me and my family, I consider it a moral obligation and rightly the immediate resignation from office. of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, as well as of all the functions of the party and the membership of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, ”Haradinaj-Stublla wrote on Facebook.
“I make this decision only because of the moral weakness caused to me and my image that has been damaged by people with dirty intentions, and not because I feel responsible for the manipulations and accusations that have been ruthlessly thrown at me and my family. Violation of my honor and work from the defamatory inventions of others is the cause and result of this decision, ”continued the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo.
Haradinaj-Stublla added that “it is no secret that the Alliance was not the favorite to win the elections, and this was causing concern for some for whom political survival is a goal in itself! They are committed to winning the election battle at all costs, without choosing any means or path. At all costs, unscrupulous and unknown people have joined party structures to build their profile and their alliances to maintain internal control and blackmail.
“My departure from a party in which I believed and contributed a lot, for more than 15 years, I never believed it would come. “But now that he has come, I am at peace because I am leaving the toxic presence of some people who make the AAK a non-reformist party and President Haradinaj isolated,” Haradinaj-Stublla said.
On Monday, the Election Complaints and Appeals Panel decided to review all ballots for AAK candidates, following public accusations by candidate Florentina Gjergjaj that Meliza Haradinaj-Stublla had stolen votes.
In her post, Haradinaj-Stublla went on to say that “I want the Prosecution to shed light, first of all, on the authenticity of the dubbed video in pseudo-ports as soon as possible and to prove the truth of all charges involving my family and me. “
“This is vital because the veracity of this video is still in doubt; the time when this conversation took place, the identity of the persons involved in it and the degree of damage they caused. In fact, we are already looking for international experts to give their professional opinion on its authenticity! she added.
“The recount of some ballots is a step forward, but not crucial to reveal the full truth, as the origin of the problem lies precisely in the claims made in this edited video, which I am convinced in the clarification of facts will be canceled, as well as criminal pyramid scheme plans orchestrated by parapoliticians and activated whenever necessary. For these reasons, with suspicions based on the existence of violations of other ballots, I request a full recount and will present the facts to the competent authorities, “she wrote, warning that she will continue to respond with” lawsuits for slander, insult and blackmail ”.
Haradinaj-Stublla received 4,424 votes in the February 14th elections and became the last MP in the list of eight AAK deputies.
She was appointed Foreign Minister by the Hoti Government in June. During her tenure she was accused of promoting people who were close to power. Reactions culminated in the appointment of MP Haxhi Shala’s son as consul in Prague.
